The construction of Sangtudinskaya Hydro-1 was started (or rather resumed) in November 2005.

It was the construction of Sangtudinskaya HPP-1 where OJSC "ChirkeiGESstroy" in connection with its Petersburg contractor LLC "Geoizol" first in the CIS used the method called "Jet Grouting" arranging an impervious element in the dam core bed area base.

High skills of ChirkeiGESstroy specialists allowed the Company to complete the works on the intake channel, the dam and the powerhouse which is to be home for four units. As far as facilities in the specialists' terms were concerned they secured conditions for an early start of the first unit of Sangtudinskaya Hydro-1.
