Miatlinskaya HPP 

         The Miatlinskaya dam is a thin arch dam, the only one in Russia  with a contour joint along the entire perimeter. The dam is equipped with an overflow spillway on the crest with free nappe. The arch is 73m high ; width – from 11.5m at the base up to 6.3m on the crest.

        Unlike the traditional “pole” method the Miatlinskaya arch dam was erected with the help of the continuous technique, in tiers from one shore to another. The dam construction took less then a year to complete.

        The designers of the “tier-by-tier” method were awarded the gold medals of the USSR National Economy Achievements Exhibition.
